Pinnacle Lists is amazed to see how big box stories like Walmart and Target can come into a place like Canada with it’s widely dispersed population and succeed. How can that be?
As a targeted direct marketing lists broker, we are always interested to learn how the marketplace functions. When we see companies like Walmart and Target expanding so rapidly across a low demographic and very widely dispersed geography like Canada, we wonder how they are able to do so.
We decided to do some research to see what we could learn about the reasons behind the expansion. Here is what we located.
Here’s a great interview with the CEO of Target and his plans. He confirms that Target and Walmart are both price focused companies which is why they are doing so well in a tough economy.
This article discusses how Walmart Canada and Target have agreed to share leaseholds – where Walmart will be taking over a number of the Zellers stores that Target purchased. Walmart is Canada’s 3rd largest employer and has an enormous impact of Canada’s economy.
